Been a very busy week or so, finally got some time to do a little work in the garage and figuring out the return spring stuff for the parking brake. I’ll make sure to include that info in the write-up I’m working on since that isn’t covered explicitly in the conversion instructions from the company. That might be updated now though, so who knows.

The car sounds great, need to clean it up as it got covered in dust and I haven’t had a chance to clean it yet, let alone drive it to get it inspected. More progress soon!

The car in question.

For the rear, how did you maintain e brake ability? Line lock? Or does it have a drum rotor combo?

Uses the regular parking brake backing plate off the V. Pretty neat setup honestly.

That adapter plate bolts to the axle tube, and the backing plate and caliper attaches to that.

Pretty neat. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone swap the rears as well before.

So it only applies presure to the back of the rotor? I just want to understand. Still working on the rear brakes for the wagon.

Here’s the V backing plate. You can see the two little shoes for the parking brake setup. That’s why I love this kit, allows me to use OEM components that I could just as easily find replacement parts at a local store or dealer.

Applies pressure to the inner diameter of the rotor surface as seen in this pic I just pulled off the googles:

Ok, thats what I thought was going on. Dope! Now does that need to go on before the hub?

Yeah, you gotta disassemble the rear end for it all.

Damn, thats awesome. I wish I could do the same. My plan is to use my OEM caliper as a parking brake, or just add a line lock to the rear only.
